Green Teacher award 2024

Ms. Rupali Deore Won the prestigious Green Teacher Award 2024 organized by Vanashakti and Thane Municipal Corporation on Sunday 25th February 2024.  It was held at Narendra Ballal Auditorium, Pachpakhadi Thane.  In the final round of the State Level Green Teacher Awards 2024, a challenging quiz competition was organized based on various topics like Environment, Wildlife, Biodiversity, Rivers, Lakes, Soil, Endangered Plants and Animals. 

Awardee of State Level Green Teacher Award 2024 second prize Rupali Deore, Student teacher at CSSM and intern at Nabar Guruji Vidyalaya, Dadar expressed her happiness over the award and credited the success to the work done under Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at the institution.  This competition was examined by Dr.  Poonam Kurve (Former Head of Department – Biodiversity, Wildlife Conservation and Management Bandodkar College, Thane) and Mrs.  Rajshree Mane (Green Teacher Winner 2023). The first, second and third winners of 2024 were awarded medals, certificates and cash prizes of Rs.20000, Rs.15000 and Rs.10000 respectively.  Arun Inamdar (Ex-Professor, IIT Mumbai), Mrs.  Varsha Dixit (Deputy Commissioner, Education Department, Thane), Mrs.  Manisha Pradhan (Chief Environment Officer, Thane) was present as the Chief Guest.  At that time Dr.  Arun Inamdar advised the students to inculcate a scientific approach in the students and contribute to the progress of the country by educating them ideologically.   Vanashakti director Stalin Dayanand expressed the hope that the teachers will be inspired by this and become environmentally aware because the role of teachers is very important for environment conservation and creating a nature sensitive generation.
